Linkin Park …hmmmm
I heard about Linkin Park by chance by some dude (don’t remember his name, it was over a year ago) - I remember he asked me what kind of music I listened to and I said “I’m pretty much open to anything”. He asked if I heard of Linkin Park and I, like a dumbass, said “Yea, I’ve been to that park a few times” (in my own defense - there is a park called Lincoln Park where I live). I was curious how he got off the topic of music and onto the subject of a park at 10PM though…
Anyhoo, moving right along - he laughed and popped in the CD and said “this is Linkin Park” and since then I was hooked. Normally, I’m not down with the whole “rap rock” thing - but these guys…they love it and it shows in their music. They love what they do, they are happy with it and they let the world know it in their music.
I just finished watching the “Breaking the Habit” and “Pt.of.Athrty” videos and I must say - I am not yet tired of their music or most importantly - their videos. I guess I am biased because I love japanimation (i.e. anime) and I have a weakness for sci-fi and hi-tech stuff. And there I go again actually listening to the words - I like the context of “Breaking the Habit” because I can relate…I think a lot of people can.
I’m still debating whether or not I want to buy their current CD because I’m not sure I’ll actually like all the songs on it -I don’t feel like wasting $20 of my hard earned money for 2 great songs and 10 other pieces of {expletive deleted}…I hardly doubt that will happen, but I think I’ll download a few more before making my decision.
Don’t know why I felt all inspired to write about Linkin Park in “the wee hours” so I’m sure I’ll come back and clean this post up a bit - maybe even include a “real” review of their music ![]()
