I’ve been busy and this blog has been neglected (well at least this week anyway). I have no excuse really except I’ve simply been busy. I figured I would have a relatively light week, and maybe would even be able to work on redesigning my own website - but yea…that idea went out the window, at least for the immediate time being.
It seems that as I was finishing up a client’s website earlier this week (around Tuesday) I acquired two new clients in the same day (one being a blog design - woohoo - those are pretty quick and painless) and as I was finishing up the blog design for one and the consultation/information gathering for the other, yet another client contracted me to design her website (around Wednesday) and before I even had a chance to think about starting her website on Thursday I had been contracted to design a logo and complete web layout for another client. And all of that doesn’t include the current two projects I had in queue - thank goodness both are near completion. Let’s just say I’ll be busy for a little while.
You know, I just realized - if I hated my job, this week would suck - but since I love what I do and every single client has given me full creative control of their projects, this week is looking awesome…normally I get those clients who are stuck on the hokey 1996 spinning/marquee/scrolling javascript includes - but so far, 2 of the designs I’ve completed have been approved out of the box first draft (no spinning/marquee - hell, no java) - can you say woo and hoo with me!
I did learn a few wonderful things this week too:
- Do nice things and nice things will happen to you.
Yep, I know there are probably a ton of people out there who don’t agree with the above statement, that’s their perogative, this is my blog.
- Believe something good will happen to you and it will.
Yes, I’m probably one of those sickening people who wake up bouncy, happy, giddy in the mornings - without coffee - don’t get me wrong though, I have my roll-out-of-bed sideways-and-upside-down moments too…but for the most part I believe the world is a good place.
- Dare to daydream and remember - nothing is impossible, even if it seems improbable.
Okay, I gotta get back to work (yes, I’m well aware that it’s late evening on a Friday night - I don’t think I’m going to have a life for a little while…)
