Okay Dumbass

While I’m up catching up on some of my live bookmarks, I’ve come across an interesting article at BBC documenting how a boy (17 yr old) managed to con eBay patrons out of 45,000 pounds (roughly $56,000 USD) - now, normally this wouldn’t claim dumbass status - but the fact that he sent emails to his eBay conees documenting how he spent their money sure took the prize…

Life Is Good

I’ve been busy and this blog has been neglected (well at least this week anyway). I have no excuse really except I’ve simply been busy. I figured I would have a relatively light week, and maybe would even be able to work on redesigning my own website - but yea…that idea went out the window, at least for the immediate time being.

It seems that as I was finishing up a client’s website earlier this week (around Tuesday) I acquired two new clients in the same day (one being a blog design - woohoo - those are pretty quick and painless) and as I was finishing up the blog design for one and the consultation/information gathering for the other, yet another client contracted me to design her website (around Wednesday) and before I even had a chance to think about starting her website on Thursday I had been contracted to design a logo and complete web layout for another client. And all of that doesn’t include the current two projects I had in queue - thank goodness both are near completion. Let’s just say I’ll be busy for a little while.

You know, I just realized - if I hated my job, this week would suck - but since I love what I do and every single client has given me full creative control of their projects, this week is looking awesome…normally I get those clients who are stuck on the hokey 1996 spinning/marquee/scrolling javascript includes - but so far, 2 of the designs I’ve completed have been approved out of the box first draft (no spinning/marquee - hell, no java) - can you say woo and hoo with me!

I did learn a few wonderful things this week too:
- Do nice things and nice things will happen to you.
Yep, I know there are probably a ton of people out there who don’t agree with the above statement, that’s their perogative, this is my blog.

- Believe something good will happen to you and it will.
Yes, I’m probably one of those sickening people who wake up bouncy, happy, giddy in the mornings - without coffee - don’t get me wrong though, I have my roll-out-of-bed sideways-and-upside-down moments too…but for the most part I believe the world is a good place.

- Dare to daydream and remember - nothing is impossible, even if it seems improbable.

Okay, I gotta get back to work (yes, I’m well aware that it’s late evening on a Friday night - I don’t think I’m going to have a life for a little while…)

I know what I want for Christmas

On my late night roadtrip through cyberspace, I find that I come across some really strange but cool things…

For the folks listening out there (you know who you are) you now have a roadmap on what to get me for Christmas

Maybe Now You’ll Be More Inclined to Believe Me When…

You know - no one ever believes me when I say that my Little Tiger likes to help me build websites and surf the net and that she actually coded this blog herself…well you know what? She’s not the only cat out there that likes the ‘puter!

Perspective

I’m up, I’m on the internet, I’m just looking around. I came across a site, however, that put everything in perspective. Simply, how nothing in life is a “sure thing” - ever.

“…people lived, had homes, country houses, garages, motorcyles, cars, money, friends and relatives, people had their life, each in own niche and then in a matter of hours this world fall in pieces and everything goes to dogs and after few hours trip with some army vehicle one stands under some shower, washing away radiation and then step in a new life, naked with no home, no friends, no money, no past and with very doubtful future.”

An excerpt from the online diary of a women named Elana traveling through Chernobyl on her motorcycle. After reading through the entire website and viewing all the pictures - you get a deeper understanding of what’s really important in life.
