Ramblings of the Mildly Insane

I’ve been with my current host for quite a while now. I was with them since the beginning of my first real website (that’s roughly 2 years now) and they’ve served me well. Their customer care is super awesome and I have very few complaints with them.

However, it seems some of my websites are outgrowing my current hosting needs and it’s time for me to move on (sort of). I need a little better uptime than WHB can consistently provide for a few of my sites because they’re commercial.

With that, I’ve decided to move the insanity to HostM because I’ve heard many wonderful things about them. A number of my clients are hosting with them and I’m very familiar with them. But I’m not completely abandoning my current host, I’m only moving 4 of my sites. The rest will remain comfortably where they are.

I just wanted to let everyone know just in case the insanity cannot be found - it will be back. Ooooh, and while I’m moving - I’ll also be upgrading to WP 1.5 too - yay. I’ve done one blog already and the world didn’t come falling down on my head, so all is well.

I even figured out how to get my “email post to a friend” plugin to work with the upgrade too - for a second I thought I was going to pull my hair out, then I knew I was going to pull my hair out when I saw how simple a fix it was. For some reason, my eyes just kept passing over the culprit (a faulty MySQL query). I also got my skin working with the “subscribe to blog posts” plugin which wasn’t as hard or hair-pulling as the email to a friend plugin…anyhoo, now I’m just rambling.

Hopefully this move goes a lot more smoothly than Paul’s did
