Right now, my favorite show is Stargate SG1. It comes back to first run shows on the 14th of July and I’m rapid with anticipating.
My fave character’s are Daniel and Vala. Vala is new to the show, this being her second season. She’s played by Claudia Black who used to be on Farscape. I never did watch that show though. And then there’s sometimes bespeceled Daniel, who’s been on the show since the first season. (He’s played by Michael Shanks, and did spend a couple seasons dead or otherwise off the show.)
This show has been on for 10 years! It’s crazy! I love it. I watch the re runs all the time, and I still don’t think I’ve seen all of them yet. I’ve looked up some spoilers for S10 and I am very VERY excited! Especially since Daniel will be making it to Atlantis and Vala will play a prominent role this season.

Pandora wants a new layout, but there’s just one problem, she and CSS aren’t friends. The design she’s after is a basic 2 column layout, which should be a staple in every designer’s CSS pantry.
At first, creating a 2 column layout, especially when the overall design looks intricate can seem like a daunting task, but it helps when you look at the layout in chunks instead of a whole. Discover what the main components will be. finish reading »
Good Lord in heaven, I have a lot of drafts. Some as far back as October 2004. For posterity (and hopefully future inspiration), I’m posting the working titles of each draft entry before I delete it. finish reading »
I know you’re not to blame, but I’ll sue you anyway because you should have anticipated and taken into account the stupidity of every person who would use your website before you launched it.
I’m not responsible for my own actions and I can’t be held accountable for any silly decisions I make if it’s a direct result of using your services. I really don’t care if that doesn’t make sense to you or anyone else, it makes sense to me.
A Texas 14-year-old and her mother have sued MySpace for US$30 million after she was raped by a man she met on the social networking site.
My heart feels for this girl. Rape is ugly and no woman asks for it nor should have to go through it. That aside, in the back of my mind, I keep wondering WTF was this little girl’s common sense?
At 14, she should have been at home playing Dungeons and Dragons or Freeze Tag with her neighbors’ kids within eyeshot of her parents instead of socially networking herself with some dude from MySpace.
I could ramble on for a week regarding youths nowadays, but I won’t. I’ll just leave you with a few thoughts from back in my day:
- My parents told me not to talk to, accept anything from, or go anywhere with a stranger.
- My parents told me to “read the fine print” before agreeing to or doing anything. They still teach reading in school right?
- My dad and sisters kept tabs on me like I was a felon and I’m glad for it.
- My dad wasn’t my friend until I turned 22, moved out, and finished college.
Let’s call this what this is, a get rich quick scheme. It’s truly asinine and only serves to further deteriorate our legal system, but some people can’t see past the dollar signs .
 – I’ve replaced What with Where in WTF.
 – I’m only bothered by frivolous lawsuits because it takes time and attention away from the vital ones.

So, as I boldly think to myself “I don’t need no stinking back up. I can do this blindfolded with 3 arms tied behind my back“, somehow I managed to bork the upgrade.
Now that it’s over and done with, hindsight’s 20/20. I can look back over the entire process and pinpoint every mistake I made. Actually, it was only one: not deactivating the plugins before upgrading. It was on my checklist, just after make a back up, but for reasons not yet known to me, I decided to skip it.
A process that should have taken roughly an hour on the worst day ended up taking four and I’m fairly sure I lost about 20 legitimate comments in the process. On another note, why on God’s green Earth are spam comments not deleted, but instead stored in the database? I had no idea there were nearly 3,000 comments marked with a comment approved status of spam just chillin’ in my DB. (Yes, I’m aware I should probably review my databases more often.)
I’ll spare you the really pathetic details of how I probably lost those 20 comments, but suffice to say it probably wouldn’t have happened if I were wearing my logic hat before making my DB backup.
For future reference, in case I decide to inflict this torture upon myself again:
DELETE FROM wp_comments WHERE comment_approved='spam';
Now, though, must sleep. Eyelids…heavy. Plugins…upgrade…morning…
