How do some people deal with rude?
In my earlier years, I was a lot more patient, but not any more. I have a difficult time suffering rude people (heck, it’s number 43 on my 100 things) and I just wonder how some people do it.
What makes a person think that spending any amount of money on something gives them to right to lambaste you any which way. Surely, people know that it’s much better to be kind and pleasant in order to get their way? Of course, I could be wrong.
Gah…I’m going to Wal*Mart. Hopefully the day will get better and there’ll be less rude people to deal with.

Now I’m wondering what brought on this rant. (;
Not that I haven’t seen the rude people in force. I like the parents of my students who treat me like I’m some hired hand there only for the benefit of *their* students and not the other 149 I have….

You don’t wanna know, but it did have a pleasant ending that included an apology.
I believe the “me-me-me” thing is human nature; an unfortunate part. It takes great effort for people to realize there are others in this world who are equally as important. Maybe you should remind those parents of that because you wouldn’t want their children growing up with that unfortunate complex.

Well, the problem with that…
I teach high school. Generally by the time I have them in class – if they are like that, it’s very nearly too late, ya know? :/

I see your point.
My heart goes out to those poor youngsters (and you). I don’t know what the world would do without teachers…

Well, if the state and the county keep dicking us around – they are going to find out. (;
It’s only so long before we go ‘frack this. I can do something else…’

So true.
Everyone used to ask if I was going to be a teacher and my standard response was, “No. I’m allergic to bullets.”
That’s probably why I have such respect for teachers in today’s society. Plus, I always remember the amazing teachers I had growing up. Sad that time changes so much.

There still ARE amazing teachers. It’s just – the governments (federal, state, AND local) are making it very hard to stay in teaching. If they aren’t going to pay their teachers, of course the young ones will not stay. And then, the good ones get old and retire…
Ugh.
