  • OMG! Just got a huge surprise – my sister now twitters! @Bremom (luv ya sis). Guess that means her internet is working now. #
  • @Bremom…Erm…how did you get that pic on your profile? Did you get a scanner when I wasn’t looking? #
  • @Bremom – I told you, I’ll get excited closer to departure. I did, however, have a dream about being excited if that makes you feel better. #
  • @Bremom – good luck. I can tell you’re tired. Go sleep and kiss the baby for me. :) #
  • Just ordered a Smetana CD (The Moldau) from Amazon and I so can’t wait ’til it gets here, now it’s really time for bed. #
  • @jeanniebeannie – if he doesn’t like it, you could always set it aside for personal development and add to your portfolio later. :) #
  • You’d think Twitter would protect against a series of 140 non-breaking characters without borking their layout. But you’d think wrong. #
  • @Bremom – I’ll most likely visit today, but I have to get some work done first. #
  • I know what I’ll be doing this weekend – planting a tree! It’s blog action day. :) http://tinyurl.com/2uysb9 #

  • There are far too many digital cameras to choose from in this world. My search will have to continue another day. My head hurts now. #
  • @DearYvette – I’m fairly certain he broke twitter. Or we’re both drunk. :) #
  • @DearYvette – hell yeah! Ya hear that @preppydude? The *good* wine. #
  • @DearYvette – painful. Very painful. 6 hours of painful. But, it’s as launched as it’s gonna get (for today, anyway). #
  • I’m beginning to wish Twitter had some kind of "private tweet" function. #
  • You guys are flippin’ hilarious! @preppydude and @fanless #
  • @DearYvette – or pizza. No, *and* pizza. Chocolate and pizza are my reward for surviving the day. :) #
  • @DearYvette – I also forgot to say thanks for pointing in the direction of those links. #
  • @preppydude – would there be something wrong with that if I said yes? #
  • You know Domino’s has an Oreo pizza out now. It looks scary, but people say it’s edible. (By the way, the answer is no.) #
  • @preppydude – food therapy sounds good. #
  • @FANLESS – I have a tough stomach, but I had to stop eating when I saw that pic. eeeewwwww. #
  • Put a warning label on it next time. :) #
  • @FANLESS – I figured it was your run of the mill "nasty" (which I can take), not "OMFG! Run away! RUN AWAY!" nasty. #
  • @FANLESS – duly noted. you win. the toe is run of the mill nasty. (going to wash my eyes out now.) #
  • should’ve known something was up with a name like "2 girls 1 cup". That teaches me…no more clickie links. #
  • Good night twitterland. It’s time for me to unplug for the night. #
  • This is my obligatory tweet before unplugging until sometime tomorrow. I really need a nap. Happy end of weekend Twitterland. #

  • Hello Twitterland. #
  • @montgorp: it’s about 12:20pm :D #
  • I’m getting ready to launch a client website redesign. #
  • @montgorp – that means you’re a day ahead of me. pretty cool. :) #
  • @DearYvette – I’ve *heard* of twittermail, entertained the idea of using, but never got around to it. :) #
  • Okay, gotta get silent, the redesign launch is about to happen in 2 minutes. #
  • I think twitter just randomly decided I don’t need to follow certain people anymore. LOL #
  • thanks @DearYvette…crossing my fingers for a smooth transition. :) #
  • @DearYvette – by the way, do you know many S. FL bloggers? I’m setting up a local blog directory. #
  • I need food, but fridge is bare and I don’t feel like grocery shopping. Pizza would be nice, but diet hinders it. #
  • Then again, my will power is weak and my hunger pains are strong. #
  • My digital 2y/o Canon digital camera seems to be down for the count. Now, must find another one. This time, going with tiny point ‘n shoot. #

I’ve been tweeting: 2007-10-12

  • Back home from dance. Just checked Luna and it appears to still be working. At least it lasted longer than 49 min. this time. Knock on wood. #
  • Wow, that hunger pain hit me like a ton of bricks. Going to rummage through the fridge now. #
  • The desire for sleep is overwhelming. I’m off to bed. G’night my twitter friends. Sleep well. #
  • @DearYvette – nope. I have 6 pillows on my bed too. All queen. #
  • @DearYvette – glad to hear the brain switched on (still waiting for mine); have a good day, too. #
  • If I had stalker tendencies, I would have dropped everything to chase after the Lamborghini that rolled up next to me this morning… #
  • @DearYvette – sounds yummy. Unfortunately, my only option (right now) is swigging some Dunkin’ Donuts coffee and hoping it does the job. :) #
  • @DearYvette <waving> back at ya… #
  • @Sphynx_Minx – that’s what I said. :D I did manage to snap a quick pic with my phone. http://www.mildinsanity.com/images/lambo.jpg #
  • @daver – last time I let my stalker tendencies get the best of me, the driver mistakingly that I was checking *him* out. #
  • @Sphynx_Minx – I haven’t stopped salivating you should have *heard* it. Just idling it sounded beautiful. #
  • All I kept thinking was…I *know* I could outrun our pokey police department in a heartbeat driving that. Probably why I shouldn’t get one. #
  • All right. The coffee seems to be working and the brain is waking up. Time to finish the tutorial/ebook thing I started last night. #
  • @Sphynx_Minx – it’s because it’s Friday. I have a hard time focusing on work, but I’ve just put on some blinders to keep me on track. :) #
  • @DearYvette – thanks for *that* link. I’m now perfectly content to became an old spinster, too. #
  • @faoi – at this point, I don’t think the blinders are working too well because I’ve just written the same sentence twice. :) #
  • Just finished some "work" and have just caught up on all my tweets. Y’all have been busy. :) #
  • Ducking out to get some lunch before I start enjoying my Friday evening. TGIF. #
  • Have a great weekend @Sphynx_Minx. #
  • It’s been one full day since the bad Luna experience. So far, so good (as I knock wood). I like it. Remote could be better, though. #
  • There’s just something *wrong* with listening to Donald Trump dish celebrity gossip. #
  • @Sphynx_Minx – thanks. Figured I should shake things up a little. :) #
  • Gotta love this shirt – http://www.geekvogue.com/4210360.aspx (h/t @daver) #
  • @jeanniebeannie – I’ve been losing some tweets, too. Maybe Twitter’s doing an update or something? #
  • Today’s my sister’s birthday and the poor thing has to go in to work. Sent some birthday hugs her way. #
  • @Miraz – thanks. :) #
  • @preppydude – I’m lost. How do you figure out your stripper name? I heard about it once, but forgot. #
  • @preppydude – thanks. :) (I’m off to Facebook to figure out my stripper name.) #
  • I have a whacked out stripper name: Brandy Leatherrock #
  • I can, however, deal with my sexy Halloween costume: Undercover Beer Hall Fraulein #
  • @preppydude – if I posted pictures, it would be incriminating evidence. ;) #
  • Friend visiting from Texas says people don’t know how to drive in Florida. I’m inclined to agree. #
  • @newmediajim – wouldn’t surprise me. #
  • You know you have issues when discovering a "new to you" microformat is cool. (I have issues.) #
  • @banannie7 – now *I* have the Inspector Gadget theme stuck in my head. Go Gadget Go! #
  • That’s the last time I check my tweets before logging off. Time to eat dinner and get ready for a move. G’night loverly twitter friends. #

Is Your Car Single?

If I had stalker tendencies, I probably would have dropped everything to follow the Lamborghini that rolled past me this morning. Instead, I settled for taking a picture.

Lamborghini

Wouldn’t want the driver to get the wrong idea. Last time I stared that hard at a car, the driver smiled and said, “I see you checkin’ me out.” To which I replied, “Oh sorry. I think you have the wrong idea. I just want to know if your car’s single.”

  • Back in the house. Feeling much better. Testing out my new heating pad and Xtreme Mac Luna ipod dock/alarm clock/radio combo. #
  • @newmediajim – I think replies are up for me. However, the twitter font seems wonkie. #
  • Damn. My Luna died at exactly 8:58pm, exactly 49 minutes after I set it up and tested it. Lucky it didn’t die while I slept. #
  • Debating whether to bring it back/exchange for another one or go with a completely different brand. Xtreme Mac has lost my faith. #
  • Hi @BeckyMcCray #
  • @BeckyMcCray – I’ve got you beat. Lunch = 6pm. :D #
  • I’m mad that I need to go back to the store tomorrow. But, instead of sulking, I’m going to eat a cookie, watch a movie, and then go to bed. #
  • G’night tweeps. Sleep well. #
  • At sister’s house. Just got her a new router and now I’m trying to configure her computer from hell. At least the internet’s up. #
  • Now…if only I can get her laptop to connect to the internet, we’ll be in business. But, I’m sooo tired. #
  • Just finished a couple client updates and moderating a bunch of comments. Now it’s time for me to wrap up for the evening. #
  • And by "wrap up for the evening", I mean "write another tutorial". #
  • Damn, my tutorial is turning into an ebook. *sigh* #
  • Up to 10 pages and that’s enough for tonight. I shall continue tomorrow. Now? Dinner & a movie. #
  • @preppydude – just got your message…in S. FL #
  • @DearYvette – I love Oprah, but rarely (if ever) watch her show. The magazine rocks, though. #
  • This evening’s cinema selection is…Inu-Yasha: The Movie 3 – Swords of an Honorable Ruler. :) #
  • @DearYvette – I can *definitely* understand the "shiny and happy" thing. I skip a lot of the articles and focus on ones that grab my fancy. #
  • Plus there are some pretty good recipes for lazy cooks (eh hem, me) in there. #
  • @DearYvette – yeppers. #
  • @DearYvette – I’m closer to Ft. Lauderdale (lit. 10 minutes from FLL if I take I595). But, you’re right — it is nice to know who’s local. #
  • Movie postponed. Just remembered I have dance class tonight and I’m running late. Later tweeps. #

  • Bed time. Good night twitter friends. #
  • Feeling a bit better today, but still not 100%. I’m hoping this day flies by. #
  • @Pistachio – that image Fluffernutter frightened me. I’m glad for the deprivation. #
  • Getting ready to head out to the post office and get some *much needed* relaxation with my sis. #
  • @susanreynolds – but stripper poles are fun. you know they have classes for that now, right? :) #
  • @BeckyMcCray – late for lunch = midnight. Any time prior is up for grabs. #
  • I’m out the door. Later tweet peeps. :) #

  • I think I’ve been working too hard b/c I feel like I’ve been hit by a bus. All I want to do is take aspirin, tummy medicine, and sleep. #
  • But, as the old saying goes, I can rest when I’m dead. #
  • @Sphynx_Minx – I’m definitely trying not to, but it’s difficult sometimes. Esp. when you just want a project to be done and over. #
  • Valuable freelance lesson: a project that should only take you two hours will inevitably take you five. Use this knowledge wisely. #
  • @DearYvette – just got your hello. Hello right back at ya new twitter friend. :) #
  • @Sphynx_Minx – just saw that you’re a flautist – flutie power rocks. And "Die Zauberflöte" happened to be the very first opera I went to. #
  • I still remember it as if it were yesterday. It quickly became one of my favourites. #
  • Following @Sphynx_Minx’s advice. Taking a short break to re-collect myself and make a paired down to-do list for the rest of today. #
  • It still feels as though my mind is swimming in soup. #
  • @tiffanybbrown – I’ve been looking into activeCollab a bit more. It’s not a hosted service and no longer free, but have heard good things. #
  • @tiffanybbrown – link – http://www.activecollab.com/ #
  • Just got an idea for a blog entry – how to properly organize and use include files. #

COPPA Out

It would seem that Xanga.com was fined $1 million for violating the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act.

My only question is where are these children’s parents and why aren’t they policing their children’s online habits better? Okay, maybe that’s two.

Xanga was in the red, but instead of pushing it all back on the online service providers, parents need to take some responsibility, too.
